Microsoft's .NET Framework is a programming framework for the Windows group of operating systems, it can be used with the Visual Basic and C# programming languages.
The .NET Framework allows for the rapid development of complex applications that run on the Windows operating system, including web-based applications (see ASP.NET).
A particular advantage of the .NET Framework is the ability to easily create complex, high-quality user interfaces.
